This blog is meant to use classic rock and roll song lyrics prior to 1979 that can be used to define, outline or rage against societal issues affecting us today.

If you have any suggestions as to a song whose lyrics would be suitable for this blog, please leave your suggestions as comments, and I will do my best to include them in upcoming posts.

For now, we start with The Who, Pink Floyd, David Bowie and The Grateful Dead. Of course, writing anything about rock and roll prior to 1979, Jim Morrison and The Doors are included by default. They called him “The Lizard King” for good reason (and, no, get your heads out of the gutter, not that!). He was also known as “The Great American Poet”.

Welcome, I hope you enjoy your ride on my lyrical train. It leaves Terrapin Station at 5:15.
